Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT): An Invaluable Community Resource

This 2-hour webinar provides an overview of "Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training,” a forty-hour curriculum based on the Memphis Police Department Crisis Intervention Team model of best practices for law enforcement intervention with persons who may have a mental illness, substance use disorder, or dual diagnosis. The CIT training builds strong partnerships between law enforcement, mental health provider agencies, and individuals and families affected by SMI/SUD.
Pat is a Standards Board certified Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) instructor for the last 11 years. She has trained thousands of law enforcement. Her team develop a “CIT Concepts for 9-1-1” training which is currently taught throughout the state of Illinois.

Each Kentucky Peer Specialist is required to complete at least six (6) continuing education hours each year.
Upload your certificates to DBHDID TRIS after you complete each training and by the day before your yearly deadline. (This is very important. See our Peers in the Know training: DBHDID TRIS: What is it and how does it work? by Laura Cunningham (see above).
Turn in your certificates of attendance to the designated person at your agency.
Keep copies of your certificates forever.
